MDSL, a global leader in Technology Expense Management ("TEM") solutions, has been awarded the 2018 ETMA Best Practice Award for its Self-Certification best practice. One of three finalists, MDSL received the award after presenting to an audience of their industry peers during the Enterprise Technology Management Association’s (ETMA) annual meeting in Philadelphia this past week.
“We are constantly looking to pass on the knowledge we’ve acquired through thousands of implementations and ongoing service engagements to benefit our clients,” said Daman Wood, Chief Operating Officer at MDSL. “It’s exciting to have Self-Certification recognized as an award-winning best practice and to be recognized by fellow companies within the enterprise technology management industry is truly an honor.”
Large organizations routinely fight inventory validity as part of their ongoing TEM practice. Self-certification leverages MDSL software to routinely poll users and managers and verify that active inventory is valid and currently in use. The practice enforces IT security and compliance measures while improving cost allocation and reducing expenses. Proof points of the process are widespread among MDSL clients, including a recent annualized savings of €320,000 for a Global Fortune 500 technology company.
“An accurate inventory is the foundation of any program; it can be leveraged to eliminate unused services, re-assign licenses, hardware and other items,” said Joe Basili, Managing Director for ETMA. “This award shines a spotlight on MDSL and its best practices related to inventory as it is a truly complex area. However, dedicated focus and automation can lead to an award-winning solution that helps enterprise clients maximize their cost savings and network efficiencies.”
